Student design contest in tensile structures announced

Students of architecture and design are invited to submit their tension structure designs in conjunction with the IV Latin American Symposium on Tensile Structures, April 6–8, 2011, Montevideo, Uruguay. The contest is sponsored by Ferrari Textiles.

Who should participate?

  • University level architecture and engineering students, worldwide.
  • Graduate students with a maximum of one year of study (up to the date of Symposium) may also participate.

Agenda

Design projects which make use of textile structures, cable structures or tensegrity structures, and small-, medium- and large-scale projects are welcome.

Mission

Travel to Lyon (France) for one person to visit the Ferrari Textiles plant (includes air fare and accommodation.)

Publication of results

Awards will be published on the Tens-Mvd2011 symposium website, and in Fabric Architecture magazine and TensiNet Tensinews.
