The 16th international workshop of Textile Roofs will take place at the Technical University of Berlin, May 30 – June 1, 2011

At the popular summer workshop on the design and practical realization of architectural membrane structures, participants can expect this year to hear presentations from guest lecturers Said El Sayad, of Hightex GmbH, Rimsting, Germany; Dipl.-Ing. Arch. Michael Kiefer, of K.TA Architekten und Ingenieure, Radolfzell, Germany; Fernando Rodriguez, of Cidelsa, Lima, Peru and Osama Thawadi, of Gulf Shade, Manama, Bahrain, as well as a number of regulars, including Matti Orpana, Tensotech Consulting; Françoise Fournier, Ferrari Textiles; Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h.c. Lothar Gründig, TU Berlin; Dr.-Ing. Dieter Ströbel, technet GmbH, Stuttgart, Germany; Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rosemarie Wagner, KIT Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, and several others.

The program includes computational and physical modeling, wind and snow loads, materials selection, environmental issues and design basics. Special guest speaker the first night is Mauro Pedretti from Airlight Ltd., Biasca, Switzerland.
