Educate the Professor seminar set on using fabrics as building materials

Industry News, News | June 30, 2017 | By:

The Fabric Structures Association (FSA) and the Professional Awning Manufacturers Association (PAMA), both divisions of Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI), are hosting an introductory two-day Educate the Professor seminar on the fundamentals of using fabric and films as building materials. Professors who attend these courses can bring their knowledge to students at their respective institutions.

The seminar will provide twelve one-hour courses presented by current and former professors and field veterans who are knowledgeable about fabric, fabric structures or tensile structures. These courses are meant to be retaught by those attending. All expenses for attending professors are covered by this program. Educate the Professor provides schools with an opportunity to improve their faculty and offerings in the design and use of fabric. The goal is to introduce architectural and engineering university students to fabric structures and the use of fabric and films as building materials.

This event will take place on Thursday-Friday, Aug. 17-18, 2017. Each day of training will be a full day. A networking reception is set for the evening of Wednesday, August 16. This training will take place at the University of Minnesota, School of Architecture and Design in Minneapolis, Minn.

To apply to be one of the attending professors, please submit a one-page statement of why you wish to be part of this program along with your current CV. Please send both items to Andrea Jauli, division supervisor, at akjauli@ifai.com.
