This table shows the approximate allowable max. tensile load in threaded fasteners loaded in tension and shear.

Notes:

1. Above allowable tensile loads are based on F_t=26-1.8f_v≤20, where F_t is the allowable tensile stress, f_v is the actual shear stress.
2. F_u, the ultimate strength of the fastener, is assumed to be 40 k.s.i.
3. The fastener is assumed to be loaded in shear to 0.1875 F_u=7.5 k.s.i.
