Portable building goes on tour to publicize game console

This project, which won an Outstanding Achievement Award in the air structures category of the 2007 International Achievement Awards, involved the design and manufacture of a unique portable building for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, to serve as a venue for a promotional tour to publicize the launch of the Playstation 3 game console. The building can be used as two separate pieces or one large structure. Thanks to blackout fabric inserts, its white interior can be light and airy or totally dark. To keep the weight of the structure to a minimum, a non-blackout fabric was used for the exterior. The virtually airtight nature of the building’s construction means that low-power, computer-controlled blowers are primarily used to maintain pressure. The entire inflation system is housed in two small flight cases, making the whole structure highly portable.
