Homework fabrics brand from Gold House Decor has launched a new collection of antiviral curtains with Amicor fiber. The collection for both residential and hospital curtains is available in a range of colors and designs. The fabrics have shown a high level of efficacy against the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) virus, tested as per ISO 18184:2019 test standards. The results show a kill rate of 99 percent of the virus in 15 seconds, according to a press release from Amicor supplier Thai Acrylic Fibre Co. Ltd. (TAF).

Amicor is specially engineered by incorporating additives into the core of the fiber, and it has shown effectiveness against bacteria and fungi in addition to viruses.

“We have seen a surge in demand for antimicrobial products from our customers since the pandemic,” says Thaveechai Sirikulthada, director of Gold House Decor. “With only 33 percent of Amicor in our fabrics, we have excellent results against the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Not only that, Amicor has proven durability to up to 100 washes, which makes the curtains almost permanently antimicrobial. There is already a lot of excitement in our team and the customers on the product, and we will be developing many more products in addition to the curtains with Amicor.”
