This project, which won an Outstanding Achievement Award in the commercial awnings category of the 2008 International Achievement Awards, is an entry awning to provide shelter and signage for Marshall Brewing Company, the new and only local brewery in Tulsa, Okla. The client requested something unique that would display the company’s logo and protect employees and customers as they entered the building. The awning frame was designed to mimic the shape and appearance of a beer mug. The framework’s style and shape were unique and much more detailed than a typical entry awning. Ten radius sections surrounded the top perimeter and each of the rafters projected slightly farther than the bottom radius to give the appearance of a beer mug.
