This structure, which won an Outstanding Achievement Award in the air structures category of the 2007 International Achievement Awards, is a huge sphere supported on an aircell collar. From inside, high-definition video images are projected onto the dome’s surface while semi-transparent fabric makes images visible both inside and out. Used as an event space, revolving doors maintain an air seal while allowing personnel access; equipment access is gained via an airlock tunnel. Air is supplied to both structures by two blower systems which have intelligent control systems that constantly monitor internal pressure. The ArcSphere’s debut was for a corporate event in Barcelona, Spain. The structure provided a unique experience for the event and it was packed away the next day, leaving no trace of its presence.
