This 10m-tall installation, which won an Award of Excellence in the tensile structures under 930m2 (10,000 sq. ft.) category of the 2007 International Achievement Awards, called “Tempo,” a roundpoint landmark in Husnes, Norway, is a monument marking the history of an aluminum manufacturing plant, as well as an engaging piece of public art. The high-tech installation is a combination of two complementary structural systems. The tensile fabric structure stabilizes the system in a static equilibrium and becomes a projection screen for the sunlight. During the dark winter hours, 216 LED lights illuminate the screen.
