IV Latin-American Symposium on Tension Structures

Held at the Faculty of Architecture, University of the Republic in Montevideo, the IV Latin-American Symposium on Tension Structures has a strong international line-up of featured speakers, including architect José Ignacio Llorens, Universidad politécnica de Cataluña, Spain; Nicholas Goldsmith, FAIA, FTL Design Engineering Studio, New York; architect Félix Escrig, ETSA, Saville, Spain; architect Juan Monjo Carrió, Universidad politécnica de Madrid, Spain; architect professor Gerry D’Anza, Anhalt University, Dessau, Germany; and architect professor Aldo Capasso, University Federico II, Naples, Italy. Topics of discussion and project methods presented are divided into two types: plenary lectures by the above guest speakers, and research papers that will cover membranes, cables, structural elements, as well as formfinding, pattern design, assembly and case studies examining Latin America projects, mobile and deployable structures, tensegrity structures and projects around the world.
