Marlen Textiles certified for UV protection

Textiles used in the marine, awning, tent, outdoors, industrial and military markets spend a lot of time in the sun, and Marlen Textiles, Chesterfield, Mo., wanted to ensure that its products offered superior UV protection to customers.

The company had its entire line of products reviewed under AATCC 183 testing protocol, and all were certified as having an Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) of 50+, the highest achievable rating. Among the products with the 50+ rating are Top Gun™, Top Notch™ and Odyssey™ coated, solution-dyed and laminated product lines. The fabrics are treated to be resistant to water, mildew, rot, abrasion and fire.
