Fisher Textiles, a supplier of fabrics for digital printing, presents two new fabrics for dye sublimation and UV-curable printing: GF 8880 Opaque White (FR) and GF 5355 Cascade (FR).
GF 5355 Cascade (FR) is excellent for awnings, canopy tents, outdoor banners and indoor roll up banner stands. Available 118 inches wide, it is 6.9 oz/sq yd, and has a waterproof treatment for outdoor use. Tested under AATCC 42-2013, it had 0.13 grams of weight gain. For water repellency under AATCC 22-2010 (Spray) it received a grade of 80.
Named for its light blocking capabilities, GF 8880 Opaque White (FR) allows printing on one side without the use of a blockout liner on the inside. This three-layered woven material consists of a white face and back with a black layer sandwiched in between. Tested under AATCC 148-1989, this fabric produced 1.3% transmitted light and 98.7% blocked light. It’s available 125 inches wide, and is 8.0 oz/sq yd, soft and has an extreme white point. Markets and potential buyers include retail advertising and trade show exhibit environments. Applications include double-sided banners, exhibit graphics and silicone edge graphics displays.
Both of these new fabrics are flame retardant and pass NFPA 701.
