Fabric concourse wall hides stadium seating

Eventscape’s portion of this project, which won an Outstanding Achievement Award in the commercial interiors category of the 2007 International Achievement Awards, is a 1,950m2 angled, custom-framed, fabric concourse wall, created to interestingly hide the back of the stadium seating. The design draws on the community’s nautical and industrial heritage, the glazing opens up the arena to the tensile-fabric custom panel system that covers the bowl’s underside. The three distinct systems were joined subtilely and without seams using a custom wall panel system, glazing and metal roof panels.

This project won the Building of America Plaque of Honor from Construction Communications, and California Construction magazine honored Swinerton Builders with the Best Civic Project in California for its work on the Stockton Event Center.
