Beijing’s National Stadium, designed by the Swiss firm Herzog & de Meuron for the 2008 Olympics and often called the “Bird’s Nest” for its unusual shape, was awarded the prestigious Lubetkin Prize for most outstanding architecture built outside the European Union and designed by an RIBA member.
